Portraits

A father is not always the man who gave you life, the only father I have known is the man in this portrait. He raised me as if I was his flesh and blood and at no time did I ever feel that I was anything other than his son. My eight siblings all feel the same way. He married a widow with nine kids ranging in the ages of 1 thru 19. What a brave man! What were you thinking? We ask now that the youngest is 40, the oldest 59, and a total of 29 grandkids and 16 great grand kids. "It was all of your little faces and your moms delicious cooking and I haven't regretted one day of the journey". He replied, he never mistreated or spanked any of us, he only knew how to give us love and affection. No wonder we all jump and drop whatever is going on in our lives when he gets ill. Mom finds herself feeling a little jealous.
